Khada Jhin is a person who gives off bad vibes the moment you meet him. He is unnaturally polite (when not in a combat situation), calm, calculating; has an obsession with the number four (everything has to be in fours) and dresses to impress. Perhaps, in casual situations, he’ll come off as a little haughty or uppity, but its just his way. As a past theatre worker, he loves the spotlight, loves attention, loves people looking at him as if hes higher than them- which in his mind, he is. He will actively discuss things that interest him (and not anything else) and may even provide you with a strange kind of conversation should to mention anything to do with art, which is his passion.

This does not make him, however, a nice person. Though he may bring himself across as someone who’s pleasant enough, behind every word is the immediate intent to mock, insult and verbally harass- and the accompanying thoughts aren’t much better. Any show of kindness or sign that he can act like a functioning person is an complete act. Every moment you spend with him, calmly talking to him, you cannot escape the feeling that if you were face to face and he had a gun, your body parts would be twisted and knotted and laid across a public park in a bizarre take of art. His person, his everything, is a mask; behind the man you thought you knew as one thing there is another. And that ‘another’ is a rather ill person indeed.

He is, by canonical definition, a psychopath. He has no interest in people beyond slaughtering them and has very antisocial tendencies. He is canonically psychotic and regularly hallucinates, though this becomes stronger when he is in the act of killing. He states that he wants to live in a constant state of beauty where everything around him is art, and by killing and provoking these hallucinations (they are usually of trees, flowers, butterflies, beautiful landscapes and pretty-to-look-at objects) he is getting exactly what he wants.

Whilst caught in a hallucination or triggered into violence, Jhin becomes a different person entirely. He becomes more callous, more airy to hear, seems to think hes on a stage sometimes and becomes obsessed with his surroundings becoming prettier and prettier and usually they require a human body mangled somewhere to be ‘perfection’. The way to snap him out of this naturally is to physically retrain him (unethical, but it has happened before) and wait for the psychosis to pass. It is very hard to break him out of hallucinations because all his life he has believed he has been gifted with these sights and has never been taught to deal with them properly. This makes him incredibly hard to talk to, if it wasn’t already.

When in prison he responded to kindness; and whilst killing freely, he had a job. He is capable of pretending to be normal when he isn’t and he is capable of responding to kindness, even if he doesn’t feel anything for the person who is kind to him; canonically, when shown patience in the too-gentle prison, he was shown to be very gifted at dance, art, and music and was also shown to be talented at smithing. His distance and the monks inability to cure him of his illnesses meant, growing older and older, he never learnt any new tricks. He was as ‘evil’ as ever.
